-200g all purpose flour
-5g yeast
-50g butter
-125ml milk and water
-1 egg
-One pinch of salt
Ingredients for water icing
-200 grams icing sugar
-5 drops of vanilla essence
- Warm water

-Sieve the icing sugar into a bowl
-Pour the vanilla into the icing
-Gradually mix in the warm using a wooden spoon until you attain the required consistency

-Sieve the flour into a bowl and then warm in the oven or over the stove
-In a small basin, mix the yeast with a little of the milk-water mixture
-Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour the yeast-milk-water mixture
-Sprinkle the liquid with a little flour and cover with a cotton cloth
-Place in a warm place until the yeast ferments
-Add the egg, butter knead until smooth and non-sticky
-Divide the dough into 8 pieces
-mould each piece into balls then into lengths of 4 inches
-Lightly grease a baking sheet and place the pieces
-Cover with a cotton cloth and place in a warm place to allow the dough to prove
-Pre-heat the oven at 230 degrees for ten minutes
-Uncover dough and place in the oven to bake for approximately 15mins
-Once ready remove from oven and place on a tray
-Glaze using water icing and serve
